For the assignment to lead professional development in our own schools, I chose to teach about skyward assessments. I titled it "Quick and Easy Skyward Assessments" and was allotted 30 minutes for the PD session. The format I followed for the PD is below.

Written assessment instructions.

The Skyward assessment will reduce or eliminate the time spent HERE, scoring and entering the results!
Step 2 |
Explain the Skyward Assessment system: The system will autoscore multiple choice, true/false, matching, and short answer that "exactly" match your possible answers. You would score essay answers and short answers that do not match your possible answers exactly (misspelled or wrong). Teachers were given an opportunity to create a short practice test, and learn how to add photo clips.

Step 3 |
Feedback: How did the PD go?
Positives: Teachers felt it was well organized and presented. They enjoyed being able to create a test. Participants thought it was informative with clear, simple instructions. Negatives: Some participants requested more time and practice. It may have been helpful to have a student view of the test so they would know how to assist students in the lab. My Reflection: I thought the PD went well. Having all the links to the images and surveys prepared on my website helped it flow smoothly. Of course, if I had more time, the teachers could have engaged in additional practice, especially with adding files and pictures, manual scoring, and student views. |
